Novi, MI: The fifteenth annual North American Horse Fest comes to the Rock Financial Showplace, 46100 Grand River Ave in Novi, on Friday December 11 through Sunday December 13. One of the region’s most popular and long-running events for horse owners and fans, the 2009 North American Horse Fest features exciting riding exhibitions, an extensive equine oriented shopping area and famous movie star horses and their trainers, too!
At last count by the Michigan State University Extension Service in 2007, the state was home to more than 155,000 horses, with the largest equine population density in Oakland, Livingston and Washtenaw counties in Southeast Michigan. The powerful and internationally renowned local equestrian community boasts many national breed champion horses and decorated riders, and the North American Horse Fest offers the chance to enjoy many of them in one place. Arabians, Quarter Horses, Appaloosas, Morgans, Thoroughbreds, Standardbreds, Tennessee Walking Horses, ponies, donkeys and more are all represented at the North American Horse Fest, December 11-13 at the Rock Financial Showplace.
The 2009 Horse Fest is being co-produced internally by the Rock Financial Showplace for the first time. “This is an important equine community event which has a loyal following and that we look forward to each year” says Blair Bowman, Owner of the Rock Financial Showplace, “We’ve decided to become more directly involved with the North American Horse Fest as host and presenting organization to lend our support and event production strengths for this year and in the future. Horses are a very important element of the community and economy in Southeast Michigan and we feel this event can grow as an equestrian destination event over the next several years.” Prime exhibitor spaces are still available.
