Welcome to the MSU VTH Blood Donor Program
We are dedicated to
providing quality transfusion products for the patients of the MSU VTH.
Our donors consist of volunteer dogs and cats owned by MSU staff,
students and area residents. We also conduct community outreach by
adopting 3-5 dogs per year from local shelters. These dogs live with us
at the VTH and donate blood monthly while looking for a permanent
home. If you are interested in adopting one of these life-saving

If you have a dog or a cat that you feel would make a good blood donor, please click on the Become a Donor section. We currently have about 50 dogs and 12 cats in our donor program, but we are always looking for more. Our emergency and critical care services are dependent on volunteer donor families to give the gift of life to our patients.
