Preveterinary Program
The College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University offers a major preference for students interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. This major preference is designated as preveterinary medicine.
Preveterinary Medicine is a non-degree granting major for freshman and sophomore students that have been admitted to Michigan State University. As a preveterinary major you will benefit from having academic advisors that are employed by the College of Veterinary Medicine which means they are able to work closely CVM’s Admission Office and understand the requirements for admission into Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine.
In addition, preveterinary majors at MSU have a broad array of non-academic opportunities available to them, which will possibly make them more competitive. Opportunities such as a Preveterinary Medical Association, Study Abroad Opportunities, Big Ten Athletic Teams, Intramural Athletic Teams, Service Learning Opportunities and much, much more.
