The MSU College of Veterinary Medicine invites veterinary practitioners to an equine-focused wet lab: "Novel Euthanasia Options for Horses," taking place 5-8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.

This lab will include instruction and performance of AVMA-approved methods of euthanasia including intrathecal lidocaine injection and intravascular KCl injection given to animals under a surgical plane of anesthesia. Participants will develop competence in the technical completion of each method of euthanasia and will understand the cardiovascular and neuromuscular expectations of each method to facilitate client communications.

This lab will be guided by Lauren Bookbinder, DVM, DACVIM-LA, Assistant Professor of Large Animal Medicine. The event grants 1.5 hours of continuing education credit and is limited to 20 participants. The registration fee is $100.
