The Veterinary Scholars Symposia, VSS, supported in major part by a grant from NIH to Michigan State University and funds from Boehringer Ingelheim, provide opportunity for our summer research participants the present their data in a poster format and the unique chance to meet world class basic, clinical and translational researchers, network with peers and program directors from many veterinary schools in the US, Canada and Europe as well as industry leaders. Symposia are scheduled for 2.5 days in late July and early August to coincide with the end of most summer research programs. To the extent possible, attendance costs, including travel, registration, which includes meals for the 2.5 days and housing, are covered by the program and the College for the attendees.
In 2022, the National Veterinary Scholars Symposium was hosted by AVMA and the University of Minnesota from August 4-August 6, 2022: Summer research students from veterinary schools across the nation attend and present a poster. Information on registration and other details will be posted here as they become available.
At MSU, we have had the pleasure to host the NVSS in 2008 and 2013 on the campus of MSU, and co-sponsor it with NIH and AAVMC in 2017 on the NIH campus in Bethesda.
