Over the past few months, I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with many of you at our alumni and friend receptions all across the country. From VMX to ACVP to AAEP, these gatherings provided a fantastic opportunity to hear about all the great work that our alumni are doing in their communities. Seeing classmates catch up with one another, share stories, and celebrate each other’s career milestones reminded me of the passion and pride that Spartans carry with them wherever they go.
If you were able to make it to the AAEP or VMX reception, you likely met Rachel Vigilante, our new assistant director of alumni engagement. With a degree in media and communications, Rachel has more than nine years of professional experience in education. Her enthusiasm for building relationships and crafting meaningful connections makes her a fantastic addition to our team. Rachel is eager to engage with alumni, hear your stories, and help bring our community together. You’ll hear more from Rachel in this issue of INSIGHTS, where she’ll go further into her vision for alumni engagement and share her contact information, so feel free to reach out, introduce yourself, and share your ideas!
I also want to take a moment to recognize the incredible support we received from alumni and friends during Giving Tuesday and Give Green Day. Your generosity made a substantial impact, providing critical resources for the Lucky Fund, which helps animals in need, and for student scholarships that open doors for the next generation of veterinary professionals. Every gift makes a meaningful difference, and we are grateful for our community’s dedication to our students, our mission, and the animals that we serve.
As we reflect on the generosity that fuels our College, it’s also important to acknowledge the many ways our alumni and friends contribute beyond financial donations. Whether through sharing expertise, volunteering time, or simply showing up and participating in College events, your involvement strengthens our community, and we are grateful for your support in all its forms.
One great way to stay connected and involved is by reading this very magazine! I hope you enjoy the pieces in this issue of INSIGHTS, which share the stories of Spartans who are making an impact in veterinary medicine and beyond.
Go Green!
