Hello, CVM Alums and Friends-

Thank you for your positive response to our first issue of INSIGHTS! I am glad to see that our College community is as interested as I am in the innovative work and research that our alums, faculty, and students are doing across the globe. The Spring 2023 edition of INSIGHTS continues this theme of highlighting individuals at the College who are doing incredible work to further our mission to Learn, Discover, Heal, and Protect.

We’ve held some great events throughout the past few months. The MSU receptions at AVMA, ACVP, AAEP, and VMX were all great chances for alums to catch up with one another, and they also provided me opportunities to meet members of our community. We also had a fantastic Homecoming tailgate in October, and I hope those who were able to return to MSU enjoyed their time reconnecting with old classmates and friends. I appreciate all the terrific conversations I had at these events, and I look forward to connecting with more of you at events like these in the future.

We also conducted the first meeting of our new Alum Advisory Council on January 26. This council includes former residents, graduate students, and, of course, veterinarians and veterinary nurses, who span from the Class of 1977 to the Class of 2020. I am thrilled to have such a diverse group filled with passionate and creative individuals who are excited to help me foster engagement in our alum community. But remember, you don’t need to be a council member to provide feedback or suggestions; I’m always up for a phone call to discuss ideas.

One of the council’s goals is to increase engagement within our online communities. If you don’t follow @msuvetsalumni on Twitter and LinkedIn, and @msuvets on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook, I recommend finding us and joining the conversation. Additionally, if you enjoy the stories in INSIGHTS, the features in our e-newsletter, Perspectives, are similar, and new issues are published every month. Be sure to also keep an eye on our Vetschool Tails blog for alum stories, hospital cases, and more.

I hope you enjoy the variety of stories in this issue of INSIGHTS. As always, if you have any feedback or ideas for the magazine, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Go Green!
