Dermatopathology is a challenging but exciting specialty within the field of surgical pathology. Biopsy can be an important tool in helping diagnose certain skin diseases, direct treatment, or aid in determining the direction of further clinical workup. We will discuss what to submit to get the most out of your lab submission as well as the strengths and limitations of skin biopsies with case examples.
