Our Western Blot assays will be discontinued effective May 20, 2024. The tests below will no longer be available:

• Lyme Western Blot (60015)
• Sarcocystis neurona Western Blot – CSF (60006)
• Sarcocystis neurona Western Blot – Serum (60007)

We will continue to offer the IFA assays which are also antibody assays and include an antibody titer:

• Sarcocystis neurona IFA (60004)
• Lyme IFA (60014)

Practitioners testing for exposure to Sarcocystis neurona, the parasite which causes equine protozoal myeloencephalitis (EPM), should request Sarcocystis neurona IFA (60004).

Practitioners testing for exposure to Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacterium which causes Lyme disease, should request Lyme IFA (60014).

This change allows us to increase laboratory efficiency and improve workflow.
