The MSU Veterinary Medical Center’s payment policy requires one half of the estimated cost of the treatment at the time your animal is admitted to the Hospital. The remainder of the balance is due when your animal is discharged. Outpatients that are not hospitalized must have balances paid in full at the time service is rendered.
The Veterinary Medical Center is financially self-supporting. We receive very little financial support from the state of Michigan to treat client-owned animals. Our fees must cover most technical and some clinical staff salaries. In addition, our fees are used to cover the state-of-the-art therapeutic and diagnostic equipment and medications that may be used on your animal. Please realize that services involving specialized equipment and supplies can be costly.
The Veterinary Medical Center accepts payments made by cash, check, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and VISA. We also accept payment plans through CareCredit.
CareCredit is a healthcare credit card with different financing options. The Hospital is contracted through CareCredit to offer our clients a six-month, interest-free financing option. We also are able to offer extended financing from 24 to 60 months for larger charges. To apply for CareCredit, please contact them at (800)-677-0718 or online at carecredit.com.
