Veterinary Social Worker

Jessica is a licensed social worker originating from Ohio. She is a graduate of Bowling Green State University for both her bachelor's and master's degrees in social work. As a masters student, she completed an internship as a social worker within a veterinary clinic. The clinic had a goal of caring for both people and their pets, as well as access to veterinary care. Jessica helped establish a social work presence within the clinic by assisting clients, and staff; and by building relationships with the community. In addition, Jessica has experience working with older adults, as well as discharge planning within the hospital setting. She enjoys being active and outdoors, and loves to cook, read, travel, and meet new people.

Katy Parker is a licensed social worker originating from Jackson, Michigan. While completing her master of social work degree, she completed an internship working with children at the Jackson County Child Advocacy Center providing individual and group therapy. Post-graduation, Katy worked for a mobile crisis unit as a clinician in Port Huron, Mich. for three years, followed by working at an adult partial hospitalization program in Grand Rapids, Mich. before she joined the College of Veterinary Medicine at MSU.
