Dr. Vogt earned her veterinary degree from the University of Bern and completed an equine medicine and surgery internship there following graduation. After a few years working at equine hospitals (including the University of Bern's), she began a large animal internal medicine internship at Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Afterward, she pursued a large animal internal medicine residency at Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine and at the University of Zurich.

Before joining MSU, she worked in private equine practice in Victoria, Australia. She is a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, and the Swiss Veterinary Association.
