The Center for Feline Health and Wellbeing is working to advance feline research through funding and infrastructure updates, further develop the Center by increasing accessibility and visibility, and increasing the number of feline patient services at the MSU Veterinary Medicine Center and the MSU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory by obtaining feline-friendly certification, expanding services, developing new diagnostics, and increasing space for feline-focused clinical activities.
We began strategic planning for the Center with the first meeting of 18 members of the Feline Health Study Team. Since 1999:
- The team has grown to 99 members representing 10 academic departments and 5 service/research units at MSU and collaborators at the University of Michigan.
- Team members have received nearly four million dollars in funding for feline research.
- The Center has supported the education and training of undergraduate students, DVM professional students, graduate students, intern and residents, and post-graduate veterinarians.
- The Center has been officially recognized as an entity in the Statewide Resource Network by the MSU Office of University Outreach and Engagement.
