The Center for Comparative Epidemiology uses a multidisciplinary approach with faculty from several departments and colleges at Michigan State University to conduct research in support of the design and implementation of effective disease control and prevention measures that will promote both animal and public health through risk analyses and collaboration with animal and public health officials.

Mission: To conduct epidemiological research at the intersection of human, animal (domestic and wildlife), and the environment using a One Health approach and training of graduate students. The Center focuses on understanding disease processes in animal and human populations and developing evidence-based disease prevention and control strategies.

Vision: To use epidemiological methods in understanding disease processes to inform prevention and control strategies and policies.
