The Clinical Innovations Program (CLIP) is a coalition of Michigan State University colleges and programs dedicated to one mission: improving the standard of care in veterinary and human medicine by sustainable and innovative clinical research. The coalition includes the College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Human Medicine, College of Osteopathic Medicine, Institute for Quantitative Health Science & Engineering, College of Natural Science, and the College of Agriculture.

Imagine MSU’s research ecosystem as a grand hotel—filled with rooms, suites, and wings dedicated to discovery, development, and clinical innovation. Each floor, like each of the entities in the image above, houses experts in their domain: laboratories, core facilities, and clinical units.

CLIP serves as the concierge desk in this grand lobby: the place researchers can turn to when ready to advance their ideas but in need of help navigating the building’s many specialized services. Like an exceptional concierge, CLIP doesn’t replace any of these services—it connects them. Acting as a central hub within the broader research ecosystem, it coordinates across departments, anticipates needs, and supports each investigator’s journey from idea to impact.

CLIP exists to…

  • Reduce barriers to clinical trial initiation
  • Connect MSU investigators to the right people to get the support they need
  • Advocate on your behalf (e.g. coordinate with Business Connect)
  • Curate learnings from shared experiences to improve MSU’s translational pipeline
