Dr. Podsiedlik earned her DVM from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (Poland) in 2016. She came to the United States the same year to undertake a one-year position at Michigan State University (MSU) as an International Surgical Training Scholar.

She then completed a small animal rotating internship at Oregon State University. She also completed an ACVS surgery residency with a Master of Science degree in small animal clinical sciences at Canada’s University of Saskatchewan. After completing the surgery residency, Dr. Podsiedlik joined the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine as an assistant professor in small animal orthopedic surgery.

After passing her board examination, she is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS). She is the first and, as of 2025, only Polish veterinary graduate to become a diplomate of the ACVS.

Dr. Podsiedlik’s current clinical interests include total joint replacement (she is certified in total hip replacement), traumatology and arthroscopic surgery.

With a strong passion for teaching, she has several years’ experience as a lecturer in an academic setting and as a continuing education instructor for national and international orthopedic courses. She serves as faculty for AO VET (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen), the world’s largest orthopedic foundation, providing comprehensive education for human and veterinary orthopedic surgeons.

On a daily basis, Dr. Podsiedlik works at the MSU Veterinary Medical Center training fourth-year veterinary students, rotating and specialty interns, and surgery residents. She is a member of AO VET North America, AO Trauma, VOS (Veterinary Orthopedic Society) and ACVS (American College of Veterinary Surgeons), and currently serves on its committee.

Dr. Podsiedlik is currently the ACVS Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellow Candidate in Small Animal Orthopedics. ACVS Fellowship Programs serve to develop highly skilled surgeons who, in turn, will become recognized experts in a specific surgical field, after already becoming diplomates of the ACVS.

She recently co-authored research on compaction drilling technique—previously not described in veterinary orthopedics— and another study describing clinical results of the surgical technique called minimally invasive elastic plate osteosynthesis. Both projects’ results were presented on the international stage at the ECVS and ACVS surgery congresses.

In 2025, Dr. Podsiedlik (Primary Investigator-PI) with the collaborative team (Co-I Dejardin, Ye, Zderic, Gueorguiev) received a prestigious grant from the AO Foundation, VET division, to conduct a collaborative research project with AO Research Institute in Davos in Switzerland focusing on the evaluation of one of the orthopedic bone drilling techniques called “pulse drilling.”
