CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2028!
Now that you have been offered admission to the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine, there are a few steps:
1) Accept the offer by completing the following by April 15, 2024:
- Intent to Enroll and Technical Standards Survey: Review the offer letter and addendum, and submit electronic signature confirming receipt, compliance, and intent to enroll via the intent to enroll survey linked in your offer letter.
- Non-refundable Tuition Deposit and MSU Admissions Fee: Payment Link
- Admissions Fee: $65 for domestic students and $75 for international students. Administrative processing fee for entrance into the DVM program at MSU.
- Tuition deposit: $500 for Michigan residents and $1,000 for non-Michigan residents, which will go toward your first semester’s tuition.
2) Complete the following offer contingencies:
- Criminal Background Check (CBC) by Certiphi: After completing acceptance of the offer, you will receive an email from Certiphi to set up an account to begin the CBC process. Costs will be determined on an individual basis by Certiphi. It is expected that you start this process upon receiving the request and release the final report as soon as it is available. Permanent residents of New Jersey, see the notice, “New Jersey Consumers Have the Right to Obtain a Security Freeze.” Permanent residents of Vermont, see the notice, “Vermont Fair Credit Reporting Contract Certification.”
- Final Transcripts by July 1, 2024, for General Education Prerequisites: Your offer of a position in the class of 2028 is contingent upon successful completion of general education coursework prior to July 1, 2024. Official transcripts for all outstanding general education prerequisite coursework at the time of application must be submitted and received at adimiss@cvm.msu.edu by July 1, 2024, or mailed to the Office of Admissions, Student Life, and Inclusivity. The offer of admission will be rescinded if transcripts are not received by July 1, 2024. If you received a notification stating that all general education requirements have been satisfied, you are not required to send a final transcript.
- Participation in Online Orientation: Online orientation launches June 1, 2024, via the Desire 2 Learn (D2L) course management system. Online orientation includes several modules which will take at least 3 weeks to complete. Engagement with the modules is required by July 1, 2024. The offer of admission will be rescinded if you do not engage with the associated modules by July 1, 2024.

1) Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
For information on Medical Student Financial Aid at MSU, visit the MSU Financial Aid website.
To be considered for MSU College of Veterinary Medicine internal scholarships, the FAFSA form must be submitted. For information on scholarships awarded through the College, please visit the College's scholarship webpage.
2) Prepare for Orientation.
Online orientation launches in June, 2024.
In-person orientation is August 12-16, 2024.

Students with Disabilities
Students with disabilities are encouraged to register with the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities. This will expedite the process for requesting accommodations.
International Students
International students are required to submit the International Graduate Application for Admission as well as proof of financial support and proof of proficiency in English. Proof of financial support is $71,913. For more information please contact our office at admiss@cvm.msu.edu. Additionally, you will find information on MSU’s many resources for international students at the Office for International Students and Scholars, which provides advising, cultural and social programming, and immigration services.
Criminal Record
Candidates with a criminal record must disclose this information to the Office of Admissions. This information is considered confidential by the Admissions office. Candidates who intend to practice veterinary medicine must verify that their record will not prevent licensing in the state in which they intend to practice. A criminal record does not necessarily prevent licensure, and requirements vary by state.
