As a dedicated facility dog, Appa plays a vital role in our community.

Similar to a therapy dog, he helps reduce stress and promote a positive atmosphere for students, faculty, staff, and clients. He also represents the College at events, outreach programs, and educational initiatives to promote wellness and connection.

His primary handler is Jessica Ricker, LLMSW, one of the members of our Veterinary Social Work Service team. She oversees his training, schedule, and well-being.
