Dr. LeeAnne Kroll is a three-time Michigan State University alumna: she graduated in 2013 from MSU College of Veterinary Medicine, defended her MS thesis in late 2013, and graduated first in her cohort in 2009 from the Medical Technology Program in the MSU College of Natural Science. In 2014 Dr. Kroll entered rural veterinary practice and spent five years across three mixed animal private, multi-doctor veterinary clinics with on-call service. In that time, she built upon her approach in serving the needs of clients, regardless of socioeconomic background. The challenge of serving clients in new communities, some from the poorest region of Michigan, to providing care in an AAHA-accredited clinic, allowed for creative solution-making to provide a spectrum of care to her clientele. With a fierce passion for financial literacy that centers around freedom to choose your financial path, Dr. Kroll and her husband successfully paid off over $250,000 in student loans debt eight years following graduation. Dr. Kroll hopes to inspire future veterinary professionals on the application of simple, effective principles around budgeting, debt management, and gritty, hard work and sacrifice. As a principal Veterinary Nursing faculty that shares duty in the Primary Care service, Dr. Kroll aims to enhance collaboration between Veterinary Nursing (VN) and DVM students. Fully immersed in the VN curriculum, Dr. Kroll instructs students to enter the practice setting as a vital cog in veterinary medicine, where both VN and DVM professionals can thrive, increase job satisfaction, and provide the best patient care.
