Dr. Jody Lawver is an assistant professor for the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences and the Diagnostic Imaging Service.

With the Diagnostic Imaging Service in the Veterinary Medical Center, Dr. Lawver works alongside all other services within both the large and small animal hospitals to provide a wide range of modalities for diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Jody Lawver received her DVM from MSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. After graduation, she completed an equine internship and spent two years in private practice gaining valuable experience in emergency and lameness and also completed University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine’s Equine Rehabilitation Certification in 2013. She then completed a small animal internship prior to a residency in diagnostic imaging from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She is double board certified with the American College of Veterinary Radiology in both general radiology and equine diagnostic imaging.

Dr. Lawver enjoys the variety of species and range of imaging modalities available at MSU and appreciates the team approach to patient care incumbent in specialty practice. While she enjoys all aspects of clinics, teaching, and some research her particular interests include training house officers and students and incorporating high fidelity educational models, musculoskeletal cross-sectional imaging in dogs and horses, CT angiography of vascular disorders and enhancement patterns of malignant neoplasms in small animals, and canine direct and indirect lymph studies.
