Amanda is from Northeastern Michigan. She graduated from Ferris State University with a degree in Radiologic Technology in 1987 and then pursued a degree in Radiation Oncology from Lansing Community College in 1989. Amanda was hired by Sparrow Regional Cancer Center in 1988, where she worked in human radiation oncology. In 2006, Amanda joined the MSU Veterinary Medical Center’s team to assist in the development of the Small Animal Clinic’s Radiation Oncology Service. She spent time at Colorado State University transitioning into veterinary medicine as well as North Carolina State University updating her skills. In her free time, she loves to walk her dogs, bike ride, swim in the great lakes, practice yoga, read, and crew for her husband’s hot air balloon.
