Dr. Sharma joined Michigan State from Colorado State University’s Flint Animal Cancer Center, where she completed a fellowship in surgical oncology. She previously completed a small animal surgery residency at Washington State University, following an internship in surgical oncology at VCA 404 Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital in Ontario and a rotating internship at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic and Referral Centre in Toronto.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Sharma served as a veterinary surgeon for the government of Haryana, India, and worked in shelter medicine in Darjeeling. She earned her Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree from DUVASU, Mathura, and her Master of Science degree from the Royal Veterinary College in London.

A diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Small Animal), Dr. Sharma’s clinical and research interests focus on surgical oncology.
