The research paper “Prevalence and risk factors for canine post-anesthetic aspiration pneumonia (1999-2009): a multicenter study” by Ovbey DH, Wilson DV et al. was selected from all of the research papers that were assigned an issue of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia in 2014. The editors forwarded a pre-selected list of papers to an independent jury who judged the manuscripts on their scientific merit, and contribution to veterinary anesthesia. The paper was the result of work performed as part of Dr. Dianna Ovbey’s MS project, when she was an anesthesia resident employed by LCS. Her major professor and mentor was Dr. Deborah Wilson (LCS - Anesthesia), the other committee members were Drs. Bryden Stanley and Joe Hauptman (SCS - Surgery).
