At this month's MSU FSJC meeting, MSU OFS alum and 2024 Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree Tyler Williams will present and lead a discussion on Beyond the Checklist: Using AI to Build Better Internal Food Safety Audits. AI is beginning to change how food safety professionals analyze data, identify risk, and prepare for audits. This presentation explores how internal audits have traditionally been conducted, practical ways food safety teams can use AI today to improve audit planning, sampling, and investigation, and what AI-enabled auditing may look like in the near future. Attendees will also explore why third-party auditing may take longer to adopt these technologies and why organizations shouldn't wait to begin building smarter, more risk-based internal audit programs.
