A partnership between the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine and the Detroit International Academy for Young Women has been awarded a $10,000 grant from animal nutrition company Purina, which will support young students’ interest in STEM fields.
The partnership aims to create a pathway for students to embrace veterinary medical education, provides support to potential future BIPOC veterinary professionals, and to help the field of veterinary medicine reach population parity in terms of underrepresented groups.
The partnership is made possible by a generous grant from animal nutrition company Purina, which has established the Purina Resource Room at the academy.
