Dr. Gallaher earned her Bachelor of Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she majored in Zoology. She then went on to earn her DVM from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed two small animal internships--the first in small animal medicine and surgery (rotating) at Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center in Middleton, CT and the second in small animal surgery at Blue Pearl Veterinary Specialists and Emergency in Overland Park, KS. She was a Companion Animal Surgery Fellow at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and then completed a small animal surgical residency at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Gallaher's most recent position was as assistant clinical professor of Small Animal Surgery at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Gallaher has a strong passion for teaching and mentoring veterinary students and residents and helping them achieve their full potential! Her Masters of Science research focused on the effect of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs on bone healing, but scholarly interests include brachycephalic airway syndrome, sepsis, wound healing, cardiothoracic procedures, and reconstructive surgery. She has completed multiple trainings and certifications that focus on DEI, leadership, and grant writing.
