The purpose of the College of Veterinary Medicine Emergency Short-Term Loan is to assist students by providing interim funding for educational needs until long-term financial aid is available. There is no interest charged for the 60-day loan period. Loans are limited to $5,000 and will be granted for educational necessities such as tuition, fees, room and board, academic supplies, etc. If you are attending MSU less than half time, loans are limited to an amount that covers tuition and fees only.
Applying for Emergency Short-Term Loans
- Read the Emergency Short-Term Loan Policies and Conditions, found on the application. Contact scholarship@cvm.msu.edu with questions
- Complete the College of Veterinary Medicine Emergency Loan Application
- Send your completed application to scholarship@cvm.msu.edu
- Approval will take approximately 48 business hours but can take up to 10 business days; check your MSU email for updates
- Once the application is approved at the college level, it is forwarded to the Office of Financial Aid. Financial Aid will send an electronic promissory note to your MSU email address and reach out to you via phone or email for your preference regarding direct deposit or paper check
- If you chose to receive a paper check you will need to take a photo ID to room 150 in the Administration Building to receive your check
