The Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine is renowned for many things—premium veterinary education, advanced bench and clinical research, and top-tier protection of public health. However, there’s a specific facet that, for many, is most salient—the health-restoring and quality of life-preserving clinical services provided by the MSU Veterinary Medical Center. The Hospital is synonymous with “MSU vets.” Known for its clinical education, patient care, and innovative research, the Hospital’s reputation precedes it. But while the Hospital’s services and resources are state-of-the-art, the cost of that specialty care can overwhelm clients.

Luckily, amazing friends like Matt and Kathleen Davis exist. Matt and Kathleen have split a $2 million estate gift between the MSU Colleges of Veterinary Medicine and Communication Arts and Sciences, of which Matt is an alumnus. Their gift includes cash pledges to both colleges for immediate impact. Matt and Kathleen’s Mercedes Davis Fund honors their beloved pet and supports specialized care for small animals at the MSU Veterinary Medical Center, and offers comfort and optimism to pet owners. Their gift is of special importance to Kathleen, who witnessed the compassionate care her dog Mercedes was shown by the Hospital’s Rehabilitation Service.
