Dr. Harris received her DVM degree from Michigan State University (MSU) and practiced in small animal and exotics medicine in both Michigan and Indiana for 20 years. She earned an MBA from Grand Valley State University and started doing work on the economics of the veterinary profession in 2004 at MSU, eventually becoming faculty in 2014. She teaches the career development and practice management courses and clerkships and is the VBMA club advisor. In addition, she is one of the veterinarians providing services for C-SNIP, a low-cost spay/neuter. In 2020, she completed a master’s in strategic foresight at the University of Houston. Foresight is the study of all the influences that shape the future and how to take advantage of these influences to shape the best possible future.
