Dr. Streu was born and raised in Bay City, Michigan and attended undergraduate studies at Saginaw Valley State University. She received her DVM from the College of Veterinary Medicine at MSU in 2018. After graduation, she completed a small animal rotating internship at Cornell University before completing a specialty internship in diagnostic imaging at the University of Missouri. She stayed on as a diagnostic imaging resident at the University of Missouri from 2020 to 2024. She received her board certification in diagnostic imaging in 2023.

Some of Dr. Streu's particular interests include the utilization of imaging modalities in gastrointestinal and abdominal disease, the use of various teaching models in student and clinician education in diagnostic imaging, and forensic radiology.
