Research Interests

Plant oligosaccharides, especially polymannans from the aloe plant, and their ability to impact immune function. I am interested in evaluating the benefit of nutritional supplementation with these glyconutrients on infectious diseases in the developing world. I am currently working on evaluating various oligosaccharide preps and the impact on cytokine response in culture with PBMC and caco-2 cell lines.
