The College of Veterinary Medicine is pleased to announce that the CVM Outreach Coordinator for the Office of Diversity and Vetward Bound Program, Kari Storm, was among the recipients of the 2012 MSU Curricular Service-Learning and Civic Engagement Awards.
Each year, the Michigan State University Center for Service-Learning and Civic Engagement recognizes innovative and/or sustained efforts in the area of academic, curricular or co-curricular service-learning and civic engagement that is specifically linked with the mission and efforts of each college at Michigan State University. Each college dean may nominate a faculty member, academic staffer, or other individual for the award, which was introduced in 2008.
As Outreach Coordinator at the CVM, Storm works within the College and with area school children to increase awareness of opportunities available in the sciences, particularly veterinary medicine. The MSU Curricular Service-Learning and Civic Engagement Awards were bestowed on 37 recipients in 15 of the university’s 17 degree-granting colleges at a ceremony on Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center.
