In August of 2016, Dr. Mike Chaddock discussed the cost of veterinary school tuition and why the price tag is only part of the problem.

Dr. Chaddock is the associate dean for administration at the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. The College is actively working to combat the economic problems that veterinary medical students are facing. On April 20–22, 2016, the College hosted the first Economics of Veterinary Medical Education Summit.
“Make no mistake—the single biggest issue here is the decrease in public funding for higher education,” Dr. John Baker, dean of the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine, said at the Summit. “As a profession, we need to address this, and advocate on a state and federal level for increased funding for higher education.”
