MSU College of Veterinary Medicine doctoral candidate Jane Manfredi, DVM, MS, DACVS-LA, DACVSMR, is now a double-boarded diplomate.
The American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (ACVSMR) notified Manfredi on February 1 that she has been board certified as an equine specialist. She became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (large animal) in April of this year.
Manfredi earned her veterinary degree from the University of Prince Edward Island Atlantic Veterinary College in 2004, and completed an equine internship at Mississippi State University in 2005. She completed her master’s in veterinary surgery and her large animal surgery residency in 2012, both at the University of Minnesota.
In December 2015, Manfredi was awarded the 2015 EQUUS Foundation Research Fellowship for her research into the risk factors for equine metabolic syndrome (EMS), which has established links with hyperinsulinemia and laminitis.
