Dr. Richard “Mick” Fulton, professor for the Department of Pathobiology and Diagnostic Investigation, was awarded the Meritorious Service Award by the North Central Region of the American Association of Avian Pathologists (AAAP). An acknowledgment of lifetime service, the award recognizes outstanding contributions to the poultry industry and poultry veterinarians within the region. Specifically, Fulton was recognized for his work regarding poultry medicine in the Midwest, as well as his efforts to support his colleagues and organize and host their annual conference. Each year, the North Central Region of AAAP holds an annual conference, which draws graduate students, faculty, poultry-allied industry veterinarians, and international attendees, and focuses on current research, poultry industry challenges, case reports, and networking.
“It is great to be recognized by peers and colleagues for your efforts over many years, to aid in the betterment of one’s chosen profession,” says Fulton.
