Preveterinary medicine is a non-degree granting designation available to freshman and sophomore students at Michigan State University who wish to pursue a doctor in veterinary medicine degree.

Why PreVet?

Choosing the preveterinary medicine designation gives you access to the information, people, and resources you will need to best prepare for application to the College of Veterinary Medicine’s Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program. You will have access to advisors within the College of Veterinary Medicine who will provide customized assistance and advice for how you can enhance your DVM application. Advisors provide guidance and recommendations for how you can:

  • Obtain animal and veterinary related experiences
  • Find study abroad experiences
  • Get involved in the MSU community
