Helen Mayer

Codirector

Helen Mayer is responsible for advising MSU Honors College preveterinary students.She earned her bachelor's degree in animal health technology from Murray State University in 1991. She worked at the University of Tennessee’s Veterinary School for a year before coming to teach in MSU’s Veterinary Technology Program. In 2002, she earned her master's degree in educational administration from Central Michigan University. In addition to advising Honors College students, she is also the Codirector of the Veterinary Technology Program.

   

Sarah (Ahrens) Tomasik

Assistant Instructor

Sarah Tomasik is responsible for advising prospective and current preveterinary students. She earned her bachelor's degree in veterinary technology from MSU in 2002 and most recently earned her Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Postsecondary Education in 2015. In addition to academic advising, she is also a faculty instructor in the Veterinary Technology Program.

   

Janette Vani, DVM

Faculty Instructor

Dr. Janette Vani is responsible for advising prospective and current preveterinary and veterinary technology students. She joined the College in 2015 after many years of clinical practice. She earned her bachelor's degree in veterinary science from MSU in 2003 and her DVM degree from MSU in 2005. In addition to academic advising, she is also a faculty instructor in the Veterinary Technology Program.

   

Alyssa Winslow

Academic Specialist

Alyssa Winslow is responsible for advising prospective and current preveterinary and veterinary technology students. She joined the college after working several years in general practice. She earned her bachelor’s in zoology from Michigan State University in 2010 and bachelor’s in veterinary technology in 2012. In addition to academic advising, she is also a faculty instructor in the Veterinary Technology Program.
