On Friday, February 15, the MSU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL) hosted a scientific networking event for approximately 30 faculty from the VDL and the Departments of Animal Science, Large Animal Clinical Sciences, and Pathobiology and Diagnostic Investigation. The event offered these faculty an opportunity to find, connect, and develop relationships with other faculty, who share similar interests in a continued effort to learn more about the depth and breadth of current research and opportunities for collaborative working relationships between these departments.
“Sometimes, finding time to connect with new faculty and to just discuss research opportunities and ideas with faculty outside your area can be a challenge,” says Dr. Rachel Reams, director of the VDL. “Part of the mission of the VDL is to collaborate with other scientists to solve animal health problems. Hosting an informal networking event to help our scientists and others find time to connect was a good fit with our mission and a great opportunity to help build our scientific community.”
The event featured structured breakout sessions and networking opportunities and ended with a tour of the Laboratory for interested participants.
