Research Interests

My area of research interest is the investigation of inherited retinal disease. Specifically, I am investigating the use of gene therapy and novel therapeutic modalities for the treatment of inherited childhood blindness. As a CMIB masters student I am developing skills in genetics, molecular biology and advanced imaging techniques. Important to my work is multidisciplinary collaboration with researchers here at MSU and specialists in human ophthalmology at the University of Michigan and University College London. I believe that there is great potential for researchers with a background in veterinary medicine to contribute to improvements in both animal and human health.
