This Committee considers and make recommendations on issues involving public health, conservation of natural resources, and the stability of livestock economies
Dr. Dan Grooms has been appointed to the Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Animal Health (SACAH) of the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). SACAH advises the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture on matters of animal health and broader issues of public concern.
Grooms will serve as a representative for veterinarians and veterinarian professional organizations.
SACAH members represent a broad spectrum of agricultural interests from among the animal health community and include, for example, animal welfare advocates; local and commercial livestock producers; small and minority farmers; and State and Tribal animal health officials. Current Committee members have been appointed through June 14, 2017.
