Congratulations to the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine students selected as recipients of the Zoetis Veterinary Student Scholarship Program. The scholarship is a partnership between Zoetis and the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges. It operates as a platform to support leadership and diversity among future veterinarians, while also helping to offset the significant costs associated with a veterinary education.
“This is a significant honor for veterinary students, and we are proud of our students whose achievements have been recognized,” said Dr. John Baker, dean of the College. “The Zoetis scholarship is not only a prestigious recognition of academic achievement, it provides financial support to students pursuing careers in veterinary medicine.”
This year, nearly 1,500 applicants from universities throughout the United States and the Caribbean were evaluated based on criteria including academic excellence, financial need, diversity, leadership, and career path.
The scholarships were awarded at the 2016 Student American Veterinary Medical Association Conference. In total, more than $700,000 was awarded.
Congratulations to the 15 scholarship recipients from Michigan State University:
