Research

The Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine produces wide-ranging and interdisciplinary research that impacts the health and wellbeing of animals, people, and their shared environment. At the College, research is on the rise. In just 1 year, the total number of proposals produced by the College grew by 60 percent. This is due in part to the College’s renewed push to increase

cross-disciplinary research, especially across campus. Current trends in research programs emphasize biomedical and agricultural projects; majority funding from the National Institutes of Health remained steady, while financial representation from the United States Department of Agriculture and the State of Michigan increased.
