The Bernese Mountain Dog DNA Repository welcomes the submission of both blood samples and cheek swabs.
How to Submit Samples
For RNA analysis, the Repository is also interested in collecting fresh frozen tumor samples from dogs that are affected. Since correct diagnosis of each tumor is critical for the quality of the Repository, we also encourage the diagnostic work-up of each case. We ask everyone to submit a formalin-fixed tissue sample for histopathology to the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at Michigan State University. Please follow the instructions for submitting each sample type accepted by the Repository.
