Dr. Srinand Sreevatsan, chair for the Department of Pathobiology and Diagnostic Investigation, will serve as responsible administrator for the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine until October 1, when Dr. Birgit Puschner will begin her appointment as dean for the College.
Sreevatsan joined the College in July 2017. Previously, he was at the University of Minnesota, where he was a professor of infectious disease at the Veterinary Population Medicine Department and director of Graduate Studies. His research focuses on the pathobiology and molecular evolution of several zoonotic pathogens, especially mycobacteria and influenza. His research on bovine tuberculosis and influenza supports the College’s focus on One Health principles.
