MSU students are required to attend New Student Orientation before class enrollment. It is important that you prepare for enrollment before New Student Orientation. You will need to complete the necessary placement exams, student background and experiences assessment, submit your immunization forms, review health insurance requirements, apply for financial aid and upload your student id photo. Students who transfer college-level credit via AP exams, CLEP exams, IB exams or college coursework, must send an official copy of their scores and/or transcripts to the MSU Office of Admissions.
Once at Orientation, students who select the preveterinary medicine non-degree granting designation will meet with an academic advisor to discuss first-year course enrollment. We look at factors such as math placement scores, ACT scores, high school coursework, advanced placement exams, and transfer credits to determine the best course enrollment strategy for each individual student.
Note: Knowing the scores necessary to obtain college credit is important. The College of Veterinary Medicine will only accept credit earned for the science and math courses, we will not accept course waivers based on AP, IB or CLEP exam scores.
