Veterinary Education Day is a great opportunity to learn more about MSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine’s Academic Programs. There will be presentations and student panels representing our preveterinary, Veterinary Nursing, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Programs. You will learn more about how to prepare for our veterinary nursing and veterinary programs as well as have your questions answered by current faculty, staff, and students.
Veterinary Education Day will be offered as a hybrid event, and registration is required. Guests may attend either in person or virtually. When registering for the event you will have the option to select virtual or in-person. If for any reason you select one mode of attendance and choose to change, please cancel your first registration and re-register under your preferred mode of attendance.
All in-person attendees will be permitted to bring two guests. REGISTRATION DEADLINE is Wednesday March 19. We will not take any late registrations.

12:15 – 12:45 PM Careers in Veterinary Medicine
Did you know Veterinary Medicine is much more than just working in veterinary clinic? Join us and learn more about the many exciting careers that veterinarians and veterinary nurses may pursue. It will surprise you to learn where veterinary professionals work and how they contribute to both human and animal health. This session is designed for both college and high school students.
1:30 – 2:00 Veterinary Nursing Presentation Have you always wanted to work with animals? Do you love doing hands on patient care? Then Veterinary Nursing is for you! Join us to learn more about MSU’s Veterinary Nursing Program’s admission requirements and curriculum. Upon graduating from MSU’s Veterinary Nursing program you will be prepared to take the Veterinary Technician National Exam. This session is designed for both college and high school students who may be interested in veterinary nursing or just want to learn more about veterinary nurses.

2:30 – 3:00 PM Preveterinary Presentation
Are you a high school student, early college student or a college student who is considering applying to veterinary school in the future? If so, this is the session you will want to attend. Discussion topics will include how to best prepare for admission to veterinary school from the best courses to take to extracurricular activities. This session designed for anyone who is at least two years away from applying to veterinary school.
3:00 – 3:30 PM Undergraduate Student Panel
Are you considering attending Michigan State University to prepare for admission to veterinary school or to earn your veterinary nursing degree? This student panel will provide you the opportunity to ask current MSU veterinary nursing and preveterinary students questions about student life and what it is like to be a veterinary nursing and/or preveterinary student at MSU. This session is designed for high school students and all college students who wish to join the veterinary nursing program or to transfer to MSU prior to applying to MSU’s DVM Program.
2:30 – 3:30 PM DVM Presentation and DVM Student Panel
This session is designed for current college students or post-college students who are within two years of applying to veterinary school. Participants will learn about the Veterinary Medical College Application Service (VMCAS), the selection process and requirements for admission to MSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine’s DVM Program. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask current DVM students questions about their experiences.
